Aagomoni 2018- The Cultural Welcome by Vodafone!

Jaya Jaya He Mahishaasuramardhini Ramyakapardini Shailasute”

Every year, We Bengalis welcome the Devi Durga with this Stotram on our lips at the dawn of Devipakkha (Time of the Devi!)

From the last 18 years, Vodafone has been going out of the way to celebrate this moment even more beautifully!

Mahalaya brings an unexplainable amount of joy in the heart of Bengalis and also in their favourite place- Kolkata. Vodafone has been making this night even more grand with musical extravaganza and more for every year since 18 years and just like last year, I had the opportunity of being one of the luckiest invitees to enjoy this spectacular aesthetic show in front of my eyes.

On Sunday, October 7, 2018, at Science City Auditorium, Kolkata from 7:30 PM onwards we witnessed some eminent artists from versatile backgrounds and wonderful performing skills including Hariharan, Rituparna Sengupta, Rupankar Bagchi, Koneenica Banerjee, Lopamudra, Subhamita, Bikram Ghosh, Debajyoti Mishra and many more outstanding artists!

The traditional lamp lighting was done by Shivan Bhargava, Business Head – Kolkata and Rest of Bengal, Vodafone Idea and Rituparna Sengupta, the actress and Hariharan, the eminent singer.

The welcoming performance by dhakis, the dance performed by teams, Shloka chanting and much more brought out the instilled ‘pujo-pujo gondho’ or the sensation of Ma Durga’s arrival!

Vodafone India has also introduced ‘Buddy’- a robot to engage with patrons at the Aagomoni celebrations. A first of its kind in the whole Indian telecom industry, Buddy aims to provide a hassle-free and engaging brand experience for its users.

Let us have some more glimpses of the wonderful journey throughout the night:

The evening of art and culture continued till the dawn of Mahalaya and left behind a subtle sense of melody between us!

That was a gorgeous way to celebrate the arrival of Devi this year! Thanks to Vodafone for giving me an opportunity to witness this beauty. There cannot be a better way to spend Mahalaya than this!
